LOS ANGELES –The six-time national champion USC women's volleyball team will play its inaugural season as members of the Big Ten Conference in 2024 and revealed its competition schedule on Wednesday, June 12.

USC will face seven teams that finished ranked in the AVCA's top 25 including four that finished in the top 10: No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Wisconsin, No. 4 Pittsburgh, and No. 7 Oregon.

NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
USC opens its season with four straight matches on the road and begins in Malibu for back-to-back evening contests against Pepperdine (Aug. 30-31). The following weekend, the Trojans travel to Omaha, Neb., to take on Creighton (Sept. 5) and Kansas State (Sept. 6) in the Creighton Classic at D.J. Sokol Arena. The Bluejays finished 2023 ranked No. 15 in the AVCA Coaches Poll.

The Women of Troy will host Pittsburgh at Galen Center (Sept. 11) in their first home match of the fall. The Panthers eliminated the Trojans from the NCAA tournament in the second round last December and will play USC in Los Angeles for the first time since 1989.

USC will serve as co-hosts of two non-conference tournaments on back-to-back weekends to conclude non-league play. Utah State (Sept. 12) and Ohio (Sept. 13) visit Galen Center for SoCal Cup I and then the Trojans take on Loyola Marymount (Sept. 19), UC San Diego (Sept. 20), and UNLV (Sept. 21) in SoCal Cup II.

BIG TEN CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
USC will face all 14 of the incumbent members of the Big Ten once and will take on each of the three former Pac-12 teams twice, once at home and once on the road.

The Trojans play their first league contest at Galen Center where it will host Ohio State (Sept. 27) before making their first Big Ten road trip to take on Nebraska (Sept. 29) in Lincoln, Neb. Michigan (Oct. 4) and Minnesota (Oct. 5) will come to Galen Center to open the month of October. USC then heads to Eugene, Ore. for a match with the Ducks (Oct. 9) and hosts crosstown rival UCLA for a Sunday matinee (Oct. 13). The Women of Troy follow that with their longest trip of the season as USC heads east for matches at Maryland (Oct. 18) in College Park, Md., and at Rutgers (Oct. 20) in Piscataway, N.J.

USC will play four consecutive matches in Los Angeles through the belly of the Big Ten season and hosts Michigan State (Oct. 24) and Penn State (Oct. 26) before a short trip across town for a rematch with UCLA at Pauley Pavilion on Oct. 31. Washington comes to Galen Center to open the month of November (Nov. 3).

The Trojans play on the road for five of their final eight matches of the regular season and begin with a trip to Illinois (Nov. 8) and Indiana (Nov. 9). USC gets Wisconsin at Galen Center (Nov. 14) and has its second match with Oregon (Nov. 17) at home. The Trojans then head east once more for matches at Northwestern (Nov. 21) and Purdue (Nov. 23) and then visit the Pacific Northwest to take on Washington (Nov. 27) on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. USC then hosts Iowa on Senior Day (Nov. 29) to conclude the regular season.

RECORD-WISE
The Women of Troy are a combined 207-129-1 against the 18 members of the Big Ten in its current alignment. USC is 165-111 all-time against the three former Pac-12 schools that will accompany the Trojans on their move to the Big Ten: Oregon (56-20), Washington (45-33), and crosstown rival UCLA (64-58). USC is 42-18-1 against the 14 incumbent league members but has never faced Iowa or Rutgers. The Trojans, in fact, hold either a winning record or are even in all-time matches with 11 of the 12 Big Ten schools they have faced and trail in the all-time series only to Wisconsin (3-5).
